Håkan Hellström to headline Øya Festival on Friday 11th August 2023

On Friday 11th August, the Nordic region’s absolute biggest live artist will come to Tøyenparken and Øya Festival to end the evening. This will be HÅKAN HELLSTRÖM’S first concert in Norway since 2017 and the only one he will play for the whole of 2023.

After a fantastic 2022 festival, organisers are delighted to start the programming with a superstar of this format!

Organisers are very much looking forward to visiting the Nordic region’s biggest live attraction in Tøyenparken for the first time. HÅKAN HELLSTRÖM’S grip on the audience is unique and it has been that way throughout his career. There are many who are looking forward to an emotional and energetic concert on Friday 11th August, with an impressive array of modern hitmen. When he returns to Øya, it will be twelve years since he last topped our poster.

After being in the bands Honey Is Cool (with Karin Dreijer) and Broder Daniel, HELLSTRÖM immediately broke through as a solo artist with the album Känn ingen sorg för mig Göteborg in 2000. In a short time he became a superstar both in Sweden and Norway. On the Norwegian side of the border, both Det är så jag sagar det (2002), 2 steg från Paradise (2010) and Det kommer aldrig va över för mig (2013) have been in the album list’s top five. For now, the last release is Rampljus, which came divided into two portions in 2020, and showed an artist who still delivers at the highest level.

HELLSTRÖM is a fantastic live artist, with a devoted audience. After a long delay due to the pandemic, in August 2022 he was finally able to carry out his four planned Ullevi concerts, with a total attendance of approximately 280,000. This shows the kind of position he has in his home country. HÅKAN HELLSTRÖM is an established phenomenon at the top of the podium in Scandinavian pop.

He has received countless awards, such as P3 Guld, Grammis, Rockbjörnen and Göteborger of the year. Musically, he plays with large parts of pop history, and alternates confidently between vice pop, stadium rock and everything in between.
