George Ezra confirmed for Jelling Festival in Denmark

GEORGE EZRA is the man behind some of the last few years’ most catchy pop songs, such as’ Budapest ‘,’ Paradise ‘and last year’s huge hit’ Shotgun ‘and the 26-year-old British pop comet was today confirmed as the international main name at the Jelling Music Festival, which finds take place May 29 to June 1.

We are incredibly happy to be able to present such a big and topical name as George Ezra at the Jelling Music Festival 2019. George Ezra’s songs are hugely captivating and he has a very strong singing voice that is completely his own. He is officially the best-selling musician in England in 2018 and is in the middle of his great international breakthrough. We have been working for a long time to get him to the Jelling Music Festival and I am looking forward to seeing him on the big stage this year.

GEORGE EZRA got a gigantic hit with the song “Budapest”, which appeared in 2014 and made the then 20-year-old singer with the deep, sonic voice world-famous in one stroke. The debut album “Wanted on Voyage” was released later that year and went # 1 on the UK sales list and top 10 in a number of other countries. Ezra, who had originally planned to teach as his parents, last year cemented his international hitmaker status with the single ‘Shotgun’, which went # 1 in England and the album ‘Staying at Tamaras’ became the best-selling album in England in 2018. In Denmark, P3 and P4 have played his songs diligently and George Ezra played a praised concert at TAP 1 in Copenhagen in October 2018.

Musically, GEORGE EZRA finds himself somewhere between Bob Dylan and Ed Sheeran and is highlighted for his deep voice, which – despite the singer’s young age – exudes emotional depth, experience, and grandeur. This was supposedly the inspiration for the music video for “Listen To the Man” from 2014, where the actor Ian Mckellen (known as Gandalf in the film adaptation of “The Lord of the Rings”) mimics to much of the song.

In February 2019, GEORGE EZRA won the best male soloist at the prestigious Brit Awards and at the beginning of May he embarked on his major European tour – where English shows were sold out in less than 30 minutes – so one can expect a George Ezra in top form when he visits the Jelling Music Festival, which takes place in Kr. Ascension holidays, from 29 May to 1 June 2019.
