A wave of new names for Rock Werchter! After the earlier announcements of PEARL JAM (2nd July), TWENTY ONE PILOTS (4th July) and SYSTEM OF A DOWN (5th July) for Rock Werchter 2020, five more top acts join the bill today. PIXIES and WILCO come to Werchter on Thursday 2nd July. THE STREETS will be there on Saturday 4th July. THOM YORKE TOMORROW’S MODERN BOXES and YUNGBLUD play the festival on Sunday 5th July. More names to follow.
PIXIES are unpredictable, and they always will be. Not fickle, but rock solid. ‘At sixes and sevens and surreal’, said Humo of their latest concert at Forest National.
WILCO is one of the most audacious musical phenomena of the last 25 years. Their concerts are celebrations, where fans reel off the lyrics at the top of their voices. Every song lifts the set to a new height.
THE STREETS is the musical empire of Mike Skinner, creator of the UK’s all-time best rap album. He shut up shop in 2011. But you can’t keep a good man down. He was white-hot at AB and Pukkelpop recently.
THOM YORKE TOMORROW’S MODERN BOXES, a trio made of THOM YORKE, NIGEL GODRICH and TARIK BARRI, perform the best of Yorke’s solo music. Godrich is on electronics and gadgets, Tarik Barri, audiovisual composer, is on video projections, and Yorke moves between bass, guitar and piano.
YUNGBLUD is back after last year’s performance. Energy, grit and love. One of the icons of Gen Z. A fresh mix of rock’n roll.
