On the 19th to 22nd June 2019 the gates to Hell will open for the tenth time at Refshale Island in Copenhagen. It’s celebrated with the ultimate tribute to hard rock and metal, when HALESTORM, DIMMU BORGIR, ELUVEITIE, DEMONS & WIZARDS, BAEST, WHITECHAPEL, ALIEN WEAPONRY and many, many other bands from all corners of the world create this year’s toughest music festival.
With several big rock hits and a Grammy, American rock band HALESTORM is well on its way to the musical heavyweight class – not least because of one of the best female rock stars in the world, Lzzy Hale!
DIMMU BORGIR has been one of the most sought after bands since COPENHELL’s start. It is a great pleasure for festival organisers to welcome the Norwegian music extremists in 2019, where we look forward to finally experiencing their innovative and progressive symphonic black metal live at the festival.
Swiss band ELUVEITIE plays people metal with inspiration from both celtic metal and melodic death metal, complete with violins, bagpipes and songs in gallic. The great ensemble creates a rich sound image in which beautiful acoustic passages are woven fluently with hard elements. The mood barometer is completely on top of this.
The power metal icon Hansi Kürsch is not only known for Blind Guardian, who performed an impressive concert at COPENHELL 2016. The DEMONS & WIZARDS side project, which Kürsch runs together with Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer, combines inspiration from these two bands in a sound image, that will cause all power fans to shout with excitement when they appear at COPENHELL 2019 – hopefully with material from their upcoming album!
BAEST are a band that needs no introduction, because the Danish death metal boys have proven their worth at both ‘When COPENHELL Freezes Over’, on the COPENHELL Metal Cruise and at the festival itself. Therefore, it is a huge pleasure for organisers to welcome them back to COPENHELL 2019, where they will deliver their musical deaths from the second largest stage!
WHITECHAPEL is a true institution within the deathcore genre. For a decade the band has been delivering massively powerful music that tears and ticks throughout the body during their thrilling concerts. In 2010 they helped kick off the very first COPENHELL festival and we are delighted to welcome you back in 2019!
The New Zealand teenage thrashers from ALIEN WEAPONRY will hit COPENHELL as a lightning strike when they go on stage. The three young musicians blend metal with the Maori culture’s hook-war dance in a unique and buzzing muscular music experience, just to be experienced live.
Ticket sales to COPENHELL 2019 will open at. 10:00 Tuesday 23 October via Ticketmaster.dk.
