The Festival of the Cow has always been famous for its eclectic personality, following in the footsteps of other large international festivals to bring together a plethora of different genres and styles, whilst always on the hunt for the next big thing. One of festival’s most defining musical styles has always been Rock, something that the Reincarnation Edition definitely won’t be short of, with performances from some of the most influential rock and metal bands around.
The addition of this new wave of artists to the Doctor Music Festival line-up marks the arrival of European mammoth heavy rock to the Pyrenees:
BEHEMOTH, the Blackened Death Metal Polish band considered to be one of the most important examples of Death Metal on the current scene, concluded the Spanish leg of their tour last year with sell-out shows and flawless live performances of true musical excellence.
BERRI TXARRAK has built up a trusted following of thousands of fans and lovers of the best kind of rock. After 15 years of independence, creating a unique musical identity that they will transport from Euskadi all the way to Doctor Music festival during their farewell tour, they promise to give festivalgoers a truly unforgettable performance.
ANATHEMA, this group from Liverpool has evolved from metal into becoming a household name of progressive atmospheric rock, with an impeccable career spanning more than 30 years.
SÔBER is one of the most successful and widespread bands on the alternative metal rock scene. Their high-voltage live shows will be landing in the Pyrenees on Friday 12th July. The return to the stage of YOGHOURT DAZE some 15 years later is the perfect moment to honour the brilliance of their rebel and energy filled rock.
Meanwhile, the legendary British band HAWKWIND will bring true experience to the festival, with 2019 marking their 50th Anniversary! Considered to be the creators of Space Rock, they will be embarking on a world tour this year, which will see them hit the stages of Escalarre on Sunday 14th July.
Among the rock groups already confirmed to play at Doctor Music Festival is GRETA VAN FLEET, a symbol of the new generation of current rock music. Just last week, the band took home a Grammy® award for Best Rock Album with their debut record From the Fires. The group from Michigan is one of the most exciting emerging talents on the scene and will be playing in Barcelona in just a few days, on February 22nd, for which they sold out tickets months in advance! On Friday 12th July they will be giving an unforgettable performance at Doctor Music Festival.
The Doctor Music Festival line-up is taking shape with the addition of these legendary names in international rock; a roster of artists reaching from the alternative sounds of The Strokes, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Good The Bad and The Queen, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Mando Diao and Greta Van Fleet… to a healthy dose of Spanish rock from the likes of Sôber, Berri Txarrak and Yoghourt Daze, not forgetting the legendary metal bands Opeth, Sabaton, TesseracT…, who will be joined by the immortal made in England influences of Hawkwind and King Crimson, and many more groups which are yet to be confirmed…
