Def Leppard, KISS & Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow to headline Sweden Rock Festival

on

This year’s Sweden Rock Festival sold out in a week and turned into an amazing event with perfect weather, a peaceful atmosphere and lots of great performances by some of the best bands in rock and metal. Tickets for the 2019 edition of the festival are going on sale on Thursday at 11.00 CET and organisers are now finally able to announce the first batch of confirmed bands!

After a 45 year long and tremendously successful career, KISS recently announced their farewell tour. Festival organisers are happy to announce that the only Swedish date on next summer’s European leg of this tour will be at the Sweden Rock Festival on Friday, June 7th. Fans can expect two hours of immortal rock classics and according to the band, their stage show will be the most spectacular they have ever toured with!

English rock band DEF LEPPARD formed in 1977 in Sheffield as part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement, need no introduction! One of only 5 bands to sell more than 10 million albums on 2 different albums, Pyromania and Hysteria.

Since 1992, the band has consisted of Joe Elliott (lead vocals), Rick Savage (bass, backing vocals), Rick Allen (drums, backing vocals), Phil Collen (guitars, backing vocals), and Vivian Campbell (guitars, backing vocals). This is the band’s longest lasting line-up.

When one of the most legendary rock guitarists of all time, RITCHIE BLACKMORE, decided to return to hard rock after 20 years of mostly acoustic medieval music, it was, of course, something of a sensation. Since the comeback, his revived band RITCHIE BLACKMORE’S RAINBOW has been very selective about performing live and next summer they will play just four concerts in Europe. Luckily, one of them will be at the Sweden Rock Festival!

Here are all 17 acts confirmed for next year’s festival so far:
