Festival organisers have added four new names to the line-up of the second festival day of Pinkpop 2020. Pop prize 2019 winner FLOOR JANSEN, LIAM PAYNE, known from One Direction, and JOOST will travel to Limburg on Saturday 20th June, and they also announced the band with the highest Dutch Golden Tip rating, CHEF’SPECIAL.
Previously Post Malone, Marshmello, Rag’N’Bone Man, Crowded House, Deftones, James Arthur, Mabel, Danny Vera and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes had already been confirmed on Saturday 20th June.
CHEF’SPECIAL entered 2020 with the single Trouble, a tasty taste of their fourth album Unfold, which will be released in early March. Produced by the band itself, it has become a more personal statement than ever before. The year seems to have a true triumph in store for the pride of Haarlem. Their club shows announced at the end of 2019 were sold out in no time and next spring a long series of performances will take the men to Spain, Germany, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Austria. To top it off, Pinkpop has now been added to the tour schedule.
The proud owner of the Pop Award 2019 has now been officially recognised as the Best Singer, but in the metal world they have known for a long time what FLOOR JANSEN has to offer. The singer born in Goirle already impresses with her powerful voice when the debut of After Forever is yet to be released. Her unexpected appearance as the front woman of the Finnish band Nightwish in 2012 brings her to an audience of millions worldwide. With the release of album Endless Forms Most Beautiful in 2015, Floors status as a rock goddess has finally been established. A trained soprano with a Rock Academy background in a decor of metal, folk and catchy melodies: and whether it’s time for FLOOR JANSEN to play at Pinkpop!
Pinkpop is not unfamiliar with the programming of a former boy band member. We see that this has proved successful with Robbie Wiliams, who they hosted in 1999 and 2015. LIAM PAYNE was one of the most important songwriters within One Direction, for whom the counter in 2020 is on more than fifty million records sold. He has been working on solo tracks since 2015, which he often remixes into dance versions himself. LIAM PAYNE is a pop singer in the best English tradition, blessed with a powerful falseto and a good nose for hip hop, r & b and dance trends. Contributions to his music come from various names such as Pharrell, Rita Ora, French Montana and Ed Sheeran – with the latter he wrote Stack It Up, which can be found on his debut album from the end of 2019, simply titled LP1.
JOOST KLEIN grows up listening to hardstyle and hip hop, and calls himself Eenhoornjoost and becomes a Youtuber. And of course he starts rapping, about his life and that of the others and about the world and so on. JOOST immediately scores big with Homemade and Homeless and Scandinavian Boy, makes the album M from Marketing with Top Notch together with his mate Donnie and pushes on tirelessly with no fewer than two albums in 2019, Albino and 1983. Bounce along with JOOST on Saturday, because one track is even crazier than the other!
