NOS Alive has just revealed a great debut for the 2019 line up.
BON IVER, the American folk band, led and founded by Justin Vernon, joins in the lineup, alongside the previously announced UK band THE CURE, with a performance on the last night of the festival, July 13th, on the NOS Stage.
The three albums released, “For Emma, Forever Ago,” “Bon Iver, Bon Iver,” and “22, A Million,” received strong praise from critics and fans alike for many of the tracks such as “Skinny Love”, “Holocene” or “33 ‘God.” With just three studio works, Bon Iver has already won two Grammys in the categories “Best Alternative Music Album” and “Best New Artist”.
The third album “22, A Million” represented a huge milestone, with a clear stylistic change, where acoustic guitars are replaced by keyboards and synthesizers, abandoning all the essence of folk. The album was praised by the prestigious Pitchfork publication, which put them at the level of Radiohead.
Bon Iver’s first five-year album takes an unexpected turn towards the odd and experimental. However, behind organised failures and processed voices, there are deep and heartfelt songs about uncertainty.
