The 10th season of NorthSide Festival kicks off, and in the first music announcement one of the most desired artists at NorthSide Festival ever, is combined with an outrageous and confetti loving trio, and also a return for one of the festival’s first headliners.
When BON IVER released the album ”22, A Million” in 2016, he took a big step away from the sentimental and beautiful ballads that characterised his previous albums. But the hiphop and electronica inspired result is a challenging masterpiece, which was met with overwhelming praise and even a comparison with ”Kid A” across the world. When live, BON IVER combines the new material with beloved classics such as ”For Emma” and ”Holocene” in a smooth way, that gives a unique concert experience, which was praised with five hearts by Politiken, when the American performed at Haven Festival in 2017.
BON IVER has since the beginning of NorthSide been one of the most desired artists both for the audience and for the organisers, and that is why it is incredible, that the brilliant songwriter will be performing at NorthSide.

MAJOR LAZER is for some of the biggest hits in recent years, and for example ”Lean On (feat. MØ & DJ Snake)” has secured the group platinum records and top placements in large parts of the world. With more than 1.1 billion plays on Spotify and twice as many on YouTube, the song is one of the decade’s greatest hits. Songs such as“Cold Water (feat. MØ & Justin Bieber)”, “Watch Out for This (Bumaye)”, “Bubble Butt”, “Get Free” and “Light it Up” have also been in heavy rotation at all clubs and parties through recent years, and as you have been able to experience at several big Danish shows, the trio always delivers a major party.
In 2018 Diplo delivered one of the most impressive shows in the history of NorthSide, and we are convinced that it will be just as spectacular as he returns in 2019 – this time with his colleagues in MAJOR LAZER.

When NorthSide Festival moved into Ådalen in 2011, one of the festival’s headliners was THE STREETS. The Englishmen were at the time on their farewell tour and delivered a fantastic show, which gathered the best of his excellent back catalogue. As soon as Mike Skinner announced a comeback for THE STREETS in 2017, the comments began to appear on social media from guests who wanted a reunion with the man behind “Dry Your Eyes”, “Has It Come To This?” and “When You Wasn’t Famous”. Since then, new music has also appeared from THE STREETS, and we are now looking forward to getting one of England’s best rappers back to NorthSide.

In addition to the three international headliners, THE MINDS OF 99 will also perform at the festival, which has almost been a demand from the NorthSide guests. The band has since their last visit in Ådalen had success with the hits “Ung kniv”, “Alle skuffer over tid” and “K før ærlighed” and won prizes for the EP “Solkongen del 1”. They have been one of the most popular names at the festival through time and therefore it is a natural re-election of the always energetic and compelling band.
Furthermore, LYDMOR and CAUTIOUS CLAY will be playing at the festival. Jenny Rossander aka Lydmor adorns the cover of GAFFA this month, and just released her spectacular album “I Told You I’d Tell Them Our Story”. She is very current right now with a visually impressive show that is certain to impress at NorthSide 2019, where you will also be able to experience American singer Cautious Clay. In addition to two popular EP-releases (“Blood Type” and “Resonance”), the sensitive vocalist has also gotten attention for his collaborations with AlunaGeorge (“Superior Emotion” from the A Star is Born soundtrack), Lil Silva (“Always Wonder” ) and Petit Biscuit (“Wake Up”). The airy and jazz inspired tracks have generated a lot of hype, all indicating that it is a future star who will be performing for the first time this summer at NorthSide.
The Minds of 99 will play Saturday June 8th, Lydmor will play Friday June 7th and Cautious Clay will play Thursday June 6th at NorthSide 2019.
With this kickoff the lineup for NorthSide Festival 2019 is off to a good start. These are six very different names, and several of them have been high up on the guests’ wish lists in recent years.
