The independent festival returns with a celebration of electronic, dance, D&B, hip hop, reggae and more, shining a spotlight on the underground and distinguished alike.
Celebrating its 15th year, the UK’s weirdest and most wonderful festival, Beat-Herder, announces its most eclectic line-up to date. Set in the spellbinding Lancashire countryside across the weekend of 16-19 July, the incredible array of immersively creative and whimsical stages are the perfect setting for some of the world’s biggest talents and outlandish performers. Names include the Grammy award winning MURA MASA, reggae titans THE WAILERS, D&B sensation MOLLIE COLLINS, Radio 1 house and techno master HEIDI, and many more acts that stretch a colossal list of genres and names.
Set in the natural amphitheatre of the main arena, the giant design and construction of The Beat-Herder stage ensures everyone gets a view worth partying to. Soaking up the sounds as the acts crescendo into the night, revellers can expect an audio trip and mind-blowing firework finale.
The festival is also holding back a huge and exclusive Friday night headliner which is set to stun crowds. The mammoth booking is set to make Beat-Herder history and the big secret will only be revealed as they step onto the main stage.
Fresh from a run of Grammy nominations and wins, number one album credits, and collaborations with some of the biggest names in music, MURA MASA will take to the iconic Beat-Herder Stage on the Saturday. Revellers can expect a set brimming with some of the renowned DJ and producer’s favourite cuts and his huge hits including Love$ick and 1 Night. WILKINSON will close the stage on Saturday with an energy-packed DJ set featuring MC AD-APT, sharing the incredible line up with original Reggae selector and soundclash champion DAVID RODIGAN and a 25th anniversary performance of the iconic Smokers Delight project in its entirety from NIGHTMARES ON WAX, backed by live strings.
Joining the billing for Sunday, iconic reggae collective, THE WAILERS, will be on hand for guaranteed audio sunshine, playing the best the genre has to offer, including Bob Marley and The Wailers’ biggest tracks from the best selling reggae albums of all time.
Across the three days, the stage will host a mass of incredible acts, set to offer something for everyone including indie electro-pop four piece CONFIDENCE MAN, production maestro GAUDI, pop streaming-powerhouse YOUNGR and many more.
The Factory is modelled on an Art Deco factory, revellers can expect industrial sounds and surroundings pulled straight from a fever dream – a construction crazed warehouse producing pure mayhem. Post-punk mega-force SNAPPED ANKLES will join multi-vocalist and hip hop talent, BEARDYMAN on the top of the billing alongside acclaimed rap duo EVERYONE YOU KNOW whilst cover extraordinaires BON JOVI FOREVER and the ANTARCTIC MONKEYS will have crowds singing their hearts out.
A whirlwind of fire and frenzy, The Fortress is a jaw-dropping techno realm fortified with energy and excitement. A stage like no other, built from recycled materials to create a monstrous kingdom complete with a courtyard, balconies and a 30ft accented fort. With a genre split across Friday, Saturday and Sunday the stage will see sets from new wave techno giants to some of D&B’s biggest names and the legends of classics and old school.
Jungle infused D&B titan BOU will be joined by HARIBO for a wild set whilst famed DJ SEB FONTAINE will take the electronic lead and electrifying The Fortress stage, sharing the wild line-up with Leeds natives and classic dance re-Imagineers PROSPA, DANNY BYRD, SALLY C, ELLIOT ADAMSON and more.
