Sziget Festival, situated in Budapest, Hungary announces its return from a two year hiatus in spectacular style with the first line up reveal featuring the likes of world class headliners ARCTIC MONKEYS, DUA LIPA AND KINGS OF LEON.
Joining them on the Island Of Freedom is a heady mix of some of the best established and up and coming artists in the world today including the enigmatic LITTLE SIMZ, grime tearaway SLOWTHAI, Scotland’s inimitable crooner LEWIS CAPALDI, world class DJ/Producer HONEY DIJON, Scandinavian king of Sad-Boy rap YUNG LEAN and many, many more. More than just a music festival, Sziget is an Island Of Freedom – an escape from everyday life, where its Szitizens experience the joy of discovery and adventure – an ideal destination for UK revellers to book an escape next summer.
With rumours of a brand new studio album inbound THE ARCTIC MONKEYS, one of the biggest bands in the world today are a mouth watering addition to an absolutely stacked line up. The Sheffield quartet who last performed live in 2019 have already announced a string of European dates for 2022, with drummer Matt Helders revealing the group’s upcoming seventh album – the follow-up to 2018’s ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ was likely to arrive this summer – meaning Sziget attendees will be some of the first to witness it played live.
International pop star and critically acclaimed artist DUA LIPA will also be appearing on the Island Of Freedom to perform hits from her incredibly successful back catalogue. ‘Future Nostalgia’ – her grammy winning second studio album release last year is currently the number 1 longest running album on Spotify’s Global Album Charts, and with a slew of pop bangers including the likes of ‘New Rules’, IDGAF and ‘One Kiss’ the Albanian songstress is sure to delight the Sziget masses.
Needing no introduction Nashville brothers KINGS OF LEON are an essential addition to any big festival line-up and are certain to ensure Sziget goes off in true rock and roll style. Earlier this year they became the first band in the world to release their new album – ‘When You See Yourself’ in the form of an NFT, and with a back catalogue recognised the world over they are set to be one of the absolute highlights of Sziget 2022.
