Aphex Twin, Foals, Royal Blood & more to play Rock en Seine!

At last! Find out who’s joining Jorja Smith, Major Lazer and The Cure at Rock En Seine 23-25 August 2019!

Tell everyone! Diversity is still the name of the game for the 17th edition of Rock en Seine. It’s also time to revisit our roots, with more guitar bands and new music, but without losing the eclectic mix you know and love. Want proof? You got it!

Welcome back to EELS, led by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mark Oliver Everett. The ever-stylish SHARON VAN ETTEN shares her sunny pop music with us on the same day as American band DEERHUNTER bring us their seventh album. Want guitars? ROYAL BLOOD are coming for their only summer festival date in France. Another addition to the line-up is Belgian band Balthazar, with their appropriately entitled fourth album Fever. Also back are BRING ME THE HORIZON, who electrified the crowd last time they were here in 2016.

Another exceptional and welcome return comes from the legendary ex-Smiths guitarist JOHNNY MARR. Last time he came to Rock en Seine in 2013 Johnny treated us to a captivating and unforgettable performance. And he’s not the only legend! Don’t forget THE CURE are with us for their only scheduled French date. It’s going to be massive, just like their back catalogue! With a set lasting over two hours, expect a thrilling and enthralling show. Thrills are also on the agenda when FOALS hit the stage. The Oxford band is releasing not one, but two albums this year and Rock en Seine will be their only date in the Paris region after their Bataclan show in May, which sold out in just minutes.

Rock en Seine has a long history with rock and pop. It’s part of the ReS DNA! But Rock en Seine is also about experimentation and this year we’re bringing you the hypnotic rhythm of AGAR AGAR, lo-fi pop from CLAIRO, and off-the-wall funk from LOUIS COLE, championed by none other than Quincy Jones. This year there’s also rap from ALPHA WANN, now a solo artist following his successful stint in the rap group 1995. We’ve got London soul grooves from JUNGLE, and jazz from JORJA SMITH (her only live date in France). Expect a huge party when MAJOR LAZER play their last ever French concert, their next album is due to be their last before they split.

Last but not least, there’s electro from Vitalic and Rebeka Warrior’s new group KOMPROMAT, as well as from duo POLO & PAN. All this plus the long-awaited return of APHEX TWIN, last seen in France in 2011 and playing their only French date this year. Result!

What is Rock en Seine 2019? It’s rock, soul, electronic, cult artists, new music and it’s sunshine! The sun is on our posters and it’s going to be shining over the Domaine de Saint-Cloud.
