Organisers have been very successful in launching the program for next year’s Øya festival and everything is right for the festival experience in Oslo.
Already now the third headline is ready. Previously, THE CURE and KARPE have been released, and today we add ROBYN. This will be her only festival concert in Norway next year. She will take a fantastic weekend stroll to Tøyenparken, to finish on our biggest stage Friday 9 August.
After eight years of waiting, ROBYN is finally back. The Honey album was released in October and has already achieved great success. It went straight to second place on the Norwegian sales list, the best album placement she has had here. She has noted herself as a fantastic live artist, making goose-skin-promoting pop songs, is an industry-leading pioneer and a great model for many.
Honey is a wonderful album. It contains many familiar grips and temperatures we know from her previous musical art and many top hits. The voice and the euphoric sadness of happiness are present in large numbers. Dancing alone, together in the crowd – Dagens Næringsliv
Swedish singer ROBYN, born Robin Miriam Carlsson, is one of our most original and individual artists today. She debuted as a twelve-year-old on Swedish TV and made international career with songs like Do You Really Want Me (Show Respect) and Show Me Love in the mid 90’s.
In 2005 she released the self-titled album ROBYN, an album that showed a more mature musician. With songs like Be Mine, Who’s That Girl? and with every heartbeat she was on charts all over the world. In 2010, she began a bold plan to release three EPs in a year – and she went out of the same year as the International Electropop Queen. The body talk collection is packed with hits – and the songs were well-placed on a large scale like radio hits, club favorites, and unusually popular music videos. The releases harvested standing ovations in both Norwegian and international music presses and climbed high on the lists.
In 2014, she collaborated with Röyksopp about the mini-album Do It Again, which immediately went straight to Billboard’s album list and heard praise from near and far, and the following year she released an EP together with the now deceased producer Christian Falk and keyboardist Markus Jägerstedt, the name La Bagatelle Magique.
