Twenty One Pilots confirmed for Pinkpop 2022

When TWENTY ONE PILOTS first appeared at Pinkpop in 2014, the duo from Columbus, Ohio, was still relatively unknown. The breakthrough of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun with their stubborn mix of just about all relevant pop music of today came a year later, with third album Blurryface – and they really hit it off.

Everything TWENTY ONE PILOTS touched turned into gold. For two years, they toured like madmen, taking a break only to be able to quietly record album Trench (released in 2018). During their thirteen-month tour, which ended in November 2019, they already announced its successor. Tyler and Josh ended up recording Scaled and Icy for the most part separately during the corona pandemic, each in his own studio.

On May 21, 2021, TWENTY ONE PILOTS celebrated the album release with an online concert that had them alternating between old and brand new songs. If that livestream made one thing clear it’s that we have something to look forward to at Pinkpop 2022!
