Testament, Septicflesh & Gernotshagen confirmed for Wacken Open Air 2019

Day 2 of the annual Wacken Open advent band releases give us one band has already played Wacken Open Air, the other two will make their debuts.

The forbearers of thrash resemble a Lovecraftian brotherhood. They’re the elder gods who set everything in motion for generations to imitate, while still ruling the roost from on high. TESTAMENT stand proudly among the same vanguard that boasted “The Big 4” and beyond.

For over three decades, the Bay Area quintet – Chuck Billy (vocals), Eric Peterson (guitars), Alex Skolnick (guitars), Steve DiGiorgio (bass), and Gene Hoglan (drums) – has consistently delivered unadulterated, unbridled, and unbreakable metal in its purest form without compromise or any signs of slowing down.

Bay Area Thrash at its finest – TESTAMENT are returning to Wacken! Chuck Billy and his mates are currently working on their new album: They will hit the studio in early 2019 and probably release it before W:O:A 2019.

Titans are the most ancient of all the gods depicted in Greek mythology – even older than the Olympic deities. They represent the forces of nature. No other title could have been more apt to represent…

SEPTICFLESH started back in 1990, just like the festival, but somehow they never played here. Until now! Friends of Symphonic Death Metal will enjoy their show for sure. See you in Wacken!

Pagan Metal mixed with some Black and Folk elements – GERNOTSHAGEN don’t take prisoners! The German band is going to release a new album in 2019 too and we are curious what they have come up with.

With the help of a really bombastically sounding top production, these frenetic heathen power songs are all too easily able to raise the swirled up senses of the listeners into highest appreciative heights. Actually the conviction-culprits GERNOTSHAGEN produced its new compositions such completed and such convexed arranged, that this fantastic album advances with a big blow quickly to an classic of German Pagan Metal.
