Roskilde festival organisers have announced 68 new music acts – and that means that this year’s festival poster will be the most extensive ever. The total line-up contains a total of 290 artists in the fields of music, art and activism.
The new additions include new global pop star ANITTA who has been storming the charts in her home country Brazil for a decade and most recently topped the Billboard international chart.
This line-up also features young, forward-thinking rapper BABY KEEM, and the R&B hope H.E.R. will take over Roskilde Festival with love ballads and distinctive protest songs.
You can also look forward to the Scottish synth-pop trio CHVRCHES and their fellow countrymen BIFFY CLYRO who bring big guitar riffs to Roskilde.
More names for the talent scenes – the festivals’ two stages Rising and Countdown present all the new, forward-thinking talents. Also here you can experience many different musical flavours. Who knows, maybe you’ll find here the stars-to-be who will play the main stages in the coming years.
Two new stages – As if one record wasn’t enough, Roskilde have beat another regarding the number of stages. This year, you can see two brand-new stages. The second new stage is called Mantra. Mantra will be located centrally in the festival site, and from Wednesday you can hear music in the open air during the bright hours of the day.
The festival will present 13 stages this year – of which 10 are dedicated to live music. That is more than there we’ve ever had been before.
Who plays when – Roskilde has also just finished the job of placing all these acts on the many stages at the festival. You can see it all in the band schedule, which is available for download here.
