MOTORPSYCHO is the country’s most unique rock phenomenon. The trio constantly moves in and out of musical comfort zones and combines the experimental with the catchy, unexpected with clear rock-historical references.
Since Bent Sæther and Hans Magnus ‘Snah’ Ryan joined the new drummer Tomas Järmyr in 2017, they have started a new chapter in their own story. Last year the album The Tower, with Håkon Gullvåg’s painting Babels Tårn, was published. His art will also be the visual element of the upcoming album The Crucible.
As a continuation of this, MOTORPSYCHO will specialise music to be performed on Olavsfestdagene and Øyafestivalen. This becomes a work with an expanded crew, and still inspired by Gullvåg’s art. Lars Horntveth will be part of the project, and several renowned musicians will attend. New music from MOTORPSYCHO is always a kind of amazement package, and we expect once more varied surprises.
Through 30 years, MOTORPSYCHO has released an amazing amount of strong albums, where they have been in psychedelia, guitar pop, noise, prog, hard rock and much more. They have received more awards, rank higher on the sales lists and sold far more concert tickets than usual for truly uncompromising bands. Now they are ready for another exciting challenge.
