Kreator and Watain confirmed for Sweden’s Gefle Metal Festival 2023!

Saturday’s headliner has been announced as KREATOR!

KREATOR was formed in 1982 in Essen and with records like “Pleasure To Kill” and “Terrible Certainty” they quickly established themselves as one of Europe’s biggest thrash metal bands as well as one of the first thrash metal acts to sign with a major record label. They are rightly seen as legends in thrash.

Today’s line-up consists of singer and guitarist Miland “Mille” Petrozza, drummer Jürgen “Ventor” Reil, guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö and bassist Frédéric Leclercq.

KREATOR has sold over 2 million albums making them one of the best selling German thrash metal bands of all time. Together with Destruction, Sodom and Tankard, KREATOR is one of “the big four” in Teutonic thrash metal and they have also developed and popularised the German thrash metal scene.

Since WATAIN was formed in 1998, they have become one of the world’s most well-known and notorious black metal bands.

With their highly anticipated seventh studio album “The Agony & Ecstasy of Watain” (2022), WATAIN continues to awaken and electrify their fans. This is the first album to be recorded live in the studio with a full ensemble and the music is written by the founders Erik Danielsson, Håkan Jonsson and Pelle Forsberg.
