The robotic visionaries from Düsseldorf in Katowice! KRAFTWERK kicks off the lineup for next year’s 14th edition of the Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice festival. On June 21st, we will have a chance to get acquainted with a musical vision of the future that became the present.

They have inspired Aphex Twin, David Bowie, Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, New Order and thousands of other artists, and managed to remain relevant. In January, Kraftwerk’s latest album – “3-D The Catalogue” – was honoured with the Grammy award. Thanks to a unique combination of music, performance and technology, their live shows constitute a multimedia work of art.

KRAFTWERK’s live shows combine music and performance, and they are often described as “Gesamtkunstwerk” – a total work of art. In summer 1981, during the period called the “Carnival of Solidarity”,  KRAFTWERK visited Poland for two performances in the Spodek venue in Katowice. Those concerts went down in history not only for political reasons.

This is just the beginning of unveiling the programme of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice 2019. On June 20-22, the Culture Zone in Katowice will once again be taken over by the hottest and the most intriguing sounds from around the world. With an annual lineup of fascinating artists and a remarkable location in the very heart of Silesia, Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice is considered one of the most recognised and appreciated music festivals in Europe.
